Ghanaian singer Jude Max William Acquah, affectionately known as Mr. Music or Neujay, recently advised his fellow musicians not to get angry or upset when someone wins an award in a category they’re also nominated for.
In an interview with DjQwequ on Ahomka 99.5 FM, Neujay emphasized that, such habits doesn’t show good sportsmanship and artiste who react negatively when they don’t win an award simply don’t understand the award scheme.
“Let’s face it, not everyone can win, but what’s unacceptable is when artiste get angry just because they didn’t take home the award.” totoagungHe jokingly suggested that if an artiste truly believes they deserve the award, they should ask the organizers to nominate them alone. Its important for them to remember that, every nominee is a potential winner.
“If you can’t handle losing, then maybe you should ask the organizers to nominate you alone. Every nominee is a potential winner, and if you don’t understand that, then you need to take a seat,” he stated.
