Shine Summit 25: Abeiku Santana Advises Youth To Prioritize Mentorship

Celebrated Ghanaian broadcaster and motivational speaker, currently the deputy CEO of Ghana Tourism Authority Abeiku Santana, has urged young men to seek mentorship as a key step in their journey to greatness.

Speaking at the Shine Summit themed “BoysLiveMatter,” he shared deep insights on the importance of having guidance from experienced individuals in life and career development.

According to Abeiku Santana, mentorship plays a vital role in shaping the mindset, values, and direction of the youth. He emphasized that almost every great person seen today had, and still has, a mentor guiding them through life’s journey.

“Young boy, you need a mentor. It’s very important in our journey to greatness. Almost all the great people you see around had and still have mentors,” he stated passionately.

He went further to draw a distinction between having a role model and a mentor, noting that the two are not the same. “A role model inspires you from afar through their lifestyle and achievements, but a mentor walks closely with you, guiding and correcting you personally,” he explained.

The BoysLiveMatter Shine Summit, organized by award-winning online journalist and blogger Kobby Kyei, brought together influential speakers, media personalities, and youth advocates to discuss the challenges facing young men in today’s society. The event aimed to empower and inspire boys to make better life choices, develop discipline, and build a strong sense of purpose.

Abeiku Santana, known for his mentorship role in the Ghanaian media space, encouraged young attendees to remain humble, open-minded, and committed to learning from those who have walked the path before them. He concluded by reminding the youth that mentorship is not a sign of weakness but rather a sign of wisdom and growth.

The Shine Summit continues to receive praise for addressing critical issues affecting the boy child and for creating a positive platform where young men can learn, grow, and connect with successful figures in various industries.
