Prophet Dr. Emmanuel Abeiku Aggrey donates 50 dustbins to boost sanitation drive in Cape Coast

As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen sanitation and environmental cleanliness in the metropolis, Prophet Dr. Emmanuel Abeiku Aggrey, General Overseer of Moulders Chapel International and Dean of Tourism & Development and Sanitation Ambassadors of the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly (CCMA), has donated 50 large dustbins to support the Assembly’s waste management drive.

The items were presented on his behalf by Pastor Emmanuel Hammond and Pastor Alex Kwabena Korankye at the premises of the Assembly. During the brief presentation ceremony, they noted that Prophet Aggrey is deeply aware of Cape Coast’s rich historical background and its importance as a major tourism hub. They emphasized that the donation forms part of his commitment to ensuring that the city maintains a clean and welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike.

The Mayor of Cape Coast, Hon. George Justice Arthur, received the items together with the Head of the Waste Management Department and the Procurement Officer of the Assembly.

In receiving the donation, the Mayor commended Prophet Aggrey for his unwavering support towards the Assembly’s sanitation agenda, describing the gesture as timely and impactful. He indicated that the dustbins would be deployed to strategic locations across the metropolis, particularly in areas with high human traffic, to help curb indiscriminate dumping and improve waste collection efficiency.

Hon. George Justice Arthur further called on other distinguished individuals, faith-based institutions, and corporate bodies to emulate this noble example by supporting the Assembly’s vision of making Cape Coast one of the cleanest and most attractive metropolitan areas in Ghana. He reiterated that sanitation remains a shared responsibility and urged residents to cultivate proper waste disposal habits to complement the Assembly’s efforts.

The ceremony concluded with a renewed pledge from the Tourism & Development and Sanitation Ambassadors to continue partnering with the Assembly in advancing environmental cleanliness. They assured the mayor of their readiness to support future initiatives aimed at sustaining sanitation improvements across the metropolis.
