Media Is Key to Unlocking Investment Opportunities in Africa – Eng Hussein

A member of the Federation of Egyptian Industries and Chairman of the Board of the Egyptian Workers Complex, Eng. Haytham Hussein has emphasized the crucial role of African media in supporting investment by presenting a realistic and balanced picture of the business climate and highlighting success stories, stressing that African journalists are genuine partners in the development process rather than mere transmitters of information.

Hussein made these remarks during his lecture titled “Investment in Africa: Opportunities and Prospects for Strategic Partnerships”, delivered as part of the 62nd session for African journalists, held in cooperation with the Supreme Council for Media Regulation.

He affirmed that the African continent today represents one of the world’s most important centers of economic growth, given its vast natural resources, its promising and expanding consumer market, and a young population that accounts for more than 60% of the continent’s total population.

Hussein pointed out that Africa holds more than 30% of the world’s untapped natural resources, in addition to nearly 60% of arable land that remains unused, positioning the continent as a key pillar for achieving global food and energy security.

He noted the increasing investment opportunities across a number of strategic sectors, including smart agriculture, mining, renewable energy, infrastructure, and the digital economy.

He added that strategic partnerships represent the true gateway to safe and sustainable investment in Africa, whether through government-to-government cooperation or public–private partnership models, as such frameworks help reduce risks, enable technology transfer, and build local capacities.

The Chairman of the Egyptian Workers Complex also highlighted Egypt’s role as a natural gateway to Africa, citing its accumulated expertise in infrastructure, energy, and training projects, and underscored the importance of strengthening African economic integration to drive comprehensive and sustainable development.
