‘Make Fashion Inclusive Hub’ Launched In Kumasi To Empower Persons With Disabilities

The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has proudly inaugurated the Make Fashion Inclusive Hub in Kumasi, a pioneering initiative aimed at empowering Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) through specialized training in fashion and dressmaking.

This ambitious project is led by CEO Malik Basintale in collaboration with GIZ and other partners.

The hub is set to provide hands-on training for 100 PWDs, equipping them with vital skills to thrive in the fashion industry.

Beyond training, the hub will serve as a workspace where these talented individuals can continue to create, collaborate, and earn a sustainable income.

This initiative stands as a beacon of hope, demonstrating that disability does not limit potential.

During the launch ceremony, CEO Malik Basintale emphasized his commitment to creating sustainable job opportunities for Ghana’s youth.

“My mandate is to create sustainable jobs for the young people of this country,” he stated, reinforcing the importance of inclusivity in employment practices.

The event was marked by a sense of community and support, with attendees including local dignitaries, industry leaders, and advocates for disability rights. Together, they celebrated this significant milestone in fostering an inclusive economy.

As the Make Fashion Inclusive Hub begins its operations, it aims to not only uplift individuals with disabilities but also inspire a cultural shift towards acceptance and opportunity within the fashion sector.
