Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci, in collaboration with food brand Gino Nigeria, has officially set a new Guinness World Record by preparing the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, weighing an astonishing 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz).
According to Hilda, the achievement was made possible through “nine hours of fire, passion and teamwork,” powered by 1,200 kg of gas.
The monumental cook-up produced an incredible 16,600 plates of jollof rice, shared with joy, love, and togetherness.
This record attempt comes after Hilda first captured Africa’s attention with her Guinness World Record-breaking cooking marathon in 2023.
With this latest achievement, she continues to inspire Africans and food lovers around the world, showcasing Nigeria’s rich culinary heritage on the global stage.
