Ghanaian Nurse Pleads With Ibrahim Mahama For A Car: “My Salary Can’t Buy Me One”

A Ghanaian nurse has made an emotional appeal to business mogul and philanthropist, Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, asking him for a car to support her daily transportation needs.

In a heartfelt message circulating online, the nurse humbly said,

“Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, I have just one request. As a nurse, my salary isn’t enough to afford a car, so I’m pleading with you to buy me just one Toyota Corolla. I know you listen to everyone, you’re a father to all.”

The message, which has since gone viral on social media, has sparked conversations about the plight of healthcare workers in Ghana, especially nurses, many of whom face financial challenges despite the critical role they play in the country’s healthcare system.

The nurse’s plea is not only a personal request but also a reflection of a larger societal issue — the inadequacy of salaries in the public sector, particularly for professionals in health and education.

Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, known for his generosity and philanthropy, is the founder of Engineers & Planners and the brother of former President John Dramani Mahama. Over the years, he has supported many individuals and communities through donations, scholarships, and employment opportunities. This may have inspired the nurse’s decision to publicly appeal to him.

Many social media users have rallied behind the nurse’s request, tagging Mr. Mahama and encouraging him to support her.

Others have used the moment to call on the government to do more to improve the salaries and working conditions of nurses and other essential workers.

As of now, there has been no official response from Mr. Ibrahim Mahama or his team regarding the appeal.
