Ghana has received a donation of 40,000 bags of fertilizer from the Kingdom of Morocco to support the country’s agricultural sector.
The donation was facilitated through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was acknowledged by Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, Hon. John Dumelo, on behalf of Minister Hon. Eric Opoku.
The donation is intended to boost crop production and enhance food security in Ghana.

Hon. John Dumelo expressed gratitude to the Kingdom of Morocco for the timely support, describing it as a prime example of “Agricultural Diplomacy.”
Hon. Dumelo specifically thanked Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament, and Her Excellency Imane Ouaadil, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Ghana, for facilitating the generous gesture.

He assured the public that the Ministry of Food and Agriculture would ensure the fertilizers are distributed promptly and directly to deserving Ghanaian farmers, emphasizing a commitment to transparency and effectiveness in the use of the aid.
The Moroccan Ambassador highlighted the gesture as a symbol of renewed friendship and bond of cordiality and brotherhood between the two countries, aimed at supporting Ghanaian farmers to boost crop yields and enhance national food security.

Discussions are underway for the establishment of a fertilizer production plant in Ghana through a partnership between Ghanaian and Moroccan institutions.
