Former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta’s Cancer Surgery Successfully Done In The United States

The family of Ken Ofori-Atta, former Finance Minister of Ghana, announced that Mr. Ofori-Atta has undergone a successful surgery to treat prostate cancer.

According to a press release signed by his wife, Prof. Mrs. Angela Ofori-Atta, the robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy was performed at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, on Friday, June 13th, and lasted for over four hours.

“My husband, Ken Ofori-Atta, the former Finance Minister, has undergone the scheduled robotic assisted radical prostatectomy,” the statement read. “This was to deal with prostate cancer and it was done at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota on Friday June 13th. The procedure took 4+ hours.”

The statement further noted that the doctors are pleased with the outcome of the procedure and will now place Mr. Ofori-Atta on a postoperative regime.

The family acknowledged the challenging period leading up to the surgery, particularly the Office of the Special Prosecutor’s (OSP) decision to declare a red alert on him shortly before the procedure.

“Kenneth has always been resilient,” the statement continued. “But this has been very difficult; with the OSP choosing the period just before his surgery to declare a red alert on him.”

Prof. Mrs. Ofori-Atta assured the public that her husband is in good spirits and focused on his recovery. “Kenneth is bearing up well and focused on doing whatever he can to be restored to good health.”

The family expressed deep gratitude for the outpouring of support and prayers from the community. “Our Family is truly grateful for the support and prayers of many people and pastors.”
