A devastating fire swept through the Tema Community 1 Market in the early hours of Thursday, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.
Eight shops were completely destroyed, while over 100 others were salvaged thanks to the swift response of firefighters.
The blaze began behind ABSA Bank, with heavy smoke hindering firefighting efforts. However, personnel from the Tema Regional Fire Service, supported by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and the Ghana Police Service, worked tirelessly to bring the fire under control.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but traders at the market are counting their losses after the devastating fire.
