ECG Partners With NADMO To Restore Power After Accra Flooding

Following a heavy rainstorm that hit the Greater Accra Region on Sunday, May 18, 2025, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a collaboration with the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) to restore power in flood-affected areas.

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has disclosed that the recent torrential rainfall has caused severe flooding, leading to power outages in several parts of the Greater Accra Region.

The rainfall, which occurred on Sunday, May 18, 2025, resulted in water-logged communities and damaged infrastructure, prompting immediate action from both ECG and NADMO.

In response to the emergency, NADMO has requested that several communities be temporarily isolated from the power grid to ensure safety and facilitate recovery efforts.

Affected areas include Borteyman Stadium, Affordable Housing, Borteyman Township, Little Roses, Lakeside, Nanakrom, Kisseiman, Dome Pillar 2, Christian Village, School Junction, School Junction Melcom, Nmaidzor Zoomlion, University Farms, Trasacco 3rd Gate, Legon Hill, Santoe, Blue Kiosk, Adenta ECG Office, and Madina Islamic University.

ECG assured the public that they are working closely with NADMO to follow their safety directives and restore power supply as quickly and safely as possible.

Customers are encouraged to report any localised outages or incidents such as fallen poles or sagging conductors to the ECG Call Center via 0302-611611, or through ECG’s official social media platforms for prompt assistance.
