As the world marks International Women’s Day, attention is being drawn to women whose determination and hard work continue to shape industries and inspire the next generation. One such remarkable figure in Ghana’s media landscape is Cynthia Akans, a seasoned media professional who has risen through the ranks to become the Director of Atinka TV under the Tobinco Media Group.

Cynthia Akans’ story is one of passion, perseverance, and an unwavering belief in dreams. Her ambition to become a journalist began at a very young age. At just 10 years old, she had already envisioned herself as a leading voice in Ghana’s media industry.

Determined to succeed, Cynthia Akans continued to push forward despite the many challenges that came her way. Her dedication led her to work with several notable media organizations, including Angel TV and Metro TV (Original TV), where she further developed her skills and broadened her professional experience.

However, she believes passion and purpose are the driving forces behind her success.
“Working in the media industry is not easy, especially as a woman. It comes with long hours, pressure, and many demanding moments. But my passion for journalism and my commitment to telling impactful stories have kept me going,” she said.
