Many companies sees and understands Corporate Social Responsibility to be only donating basic items to people the society which is very bad.
Chief Executive Officer of Association of Ghana Industries, Seth Twum Akwaboah, has urged companies, governmental and non governmental organizations to consider Corporate Social Responsibility not only as doing ‘normal donations’ but find other great means to affect the society positively.
He made this interesting comment at the 2023 National Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainability Conference on the theme: “Shaping the future of businesses sustainably, Post COVID 19”.
He urged these organizations to be concern and more committed to doing things that will benefit their staff and the entire community. For instance, companies must ensure that their activities do not destroy lives and the whole environment.
He added that companies must ensure responsible disposal of waste and contribute to the development of these community by supporting in the provision of various social amenities such as schools’ hospitals among others.
