Achimota School, established by Sir Frederick Gordon Guggisberg marked its 98th Founders’ Day on Saturday, March 8, 2025, with a special durbar featuring moving speeches and celebrations of its rich legacy.
Mr. Ebenezer G. Acquah, the Headmaster of Achimota School, addressed the gathering, expressing deep gratitude and admiration for the alumni, especially those who graduated fifty and forty years ago.
In the speech, Mr. Acquah emphasized the significance of the day, highlighting the continued legacy of excellence, discipline, and character that Achimota School upholds.
“You have been a shining example of this legacy,” he said, acknowledging the remarkable achievements and leadership shown by alumni in various fields.
He further recognized their commitment to excellence and the lasting impact they’ve had, not just in their professional lives but also in inspiring future generations of Achimotans.
A major highlight of the day was the special mention of the alumni’s generous donation of science equipment to the school.
This gesture, Mr. Acquah noted, would greatly enhance the educational experience for current students, enabling them to excel in the sciences and pursue their passions.
“Your dedication to your alma mater is a testament to the enduring spirit of Achimota School,” Mr. Acquah remarked, acknowledging the significant contributions alumni have made to both the school and society.
As alumni gathered to reminisce and reconnect, the Headmaster expressed heartfelt gratitude for their ongoing support and loyalty.
He closed with warm wishes for their continued good health and blessings, reaffirming that Achimota School would always look to them for inspiration and support.
The day’s events served as a reminder of the school’s proud tradition, and a call to continue nurturing the values that have defined Achimota for nearly a century.
