Renowned media personality, tourism advocate and entrepreneur, Abeiku Santana, has been appointed as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA).
This appointment, announced by the presidency on February 26, 2025, is a significant step towards advancing Ghana’s goal of becoming a leading global tourism destination.
Abeiku Santana, known privately as Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey, has been a vocal promoter of Ghana’s tourism sector, using his media platforms to highlight the country’s rich cultural heritage, festivals, and hospitality industry.
His extensive experience in media, marketing, and tourism advocacy makes him an ideal candidate for the role.
As a certified tourism consultant and owner of popular tour operator, Kaya Tours, Abeiku Santana has played a key role in many projects which have significantly enhanced Ghana’s global tourism appeal.
His appointment aligns with President John Dramani Mahama’s vision to expand the tourism sector, create jobs, and attract investment.
In his new role, Abeiku Santana will work alongside CEO of the GTA, Maame Efua Houadjeto, to spearhead innovative tourism campaigns, foster industry partnerships, and strengthen Ghana’s position as a premier tourism destination.

Abeiku Santana holds a Master’s degree from the University of Ghana Business School and a Master’s Degree in Tourism Management from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana.
