Rising newcomer, MOE. has etched her name in South Africa’s music awards history books bagging a Metro FM Award for Best New Age R&B Artist for her single “me ever after”.
The glitzy awards ceremony took place in Mpumalanga this past weekend, although receiving her award in absentia due to performances and travel she couldn’t reschedule and her exams at the Manhattan School of Music in New York, where she’s studying for a Masters of Music; MOE. did not miss out on witnessing the historic moment of receiving her first music award accolade, as Gypsy Rose Bistro in New York threw her a private viewing party to watch the Metro FM Awards serving a 3-course meal and curated a special drink called “MOE” to mark the occasion.
“I feel a lot of emotions right now. But most of all is gratitude. I released my first song as MOE. less than a year ago and we’re already here. It makes me so excited for what’s to come,” shares MOE.
She adds: “I’m so grateful to God for giving me this moment. To Metro FM for gracing me with my first award. To my incredible fans who really showed out and voted for me – nationally and internationally. To my family and friends who’ve given me so much support and love. To my incredible team for putting this tune together – JR Bogopa – who found me on TikTok a year ago and helped me bring MOE. to life. To my PR team for making sure it gets out. And a special S/O to my new family in NYC who came out to celebrate with me. This is only the warmup…”
“We have worked hard, and we haven’t even scraped the surface yet. Here’s to many more. Can’t wait for the next release. Well done MOE. and the production team, Civil, FD and Tumelo,” shares JR.
With a global fan base from Mzansi to New York to China, MOE. truly is the epitome of a New Age R&B Artist and the world can expect a lot more from this rising talent.
